Colton Summers is a visual artist based in Southern Oregon. His work focuses on structure, perception, and the ways visual systems shape experience. A background in graphic design informs his attention to proportion, rhythm, and constraint, while a psychological realism drives him away from those contrivances.
He approaches image-making as a series of experiential distillations, shaped by moment to moment perceptual restraints, resulting in abstractions of physical and mental space. Structure and atmosphere are placed in tension: formal elements guide the image, but they do not resolve it. His work aims for clarity without closure and invites the viewer into a quiet, ongoing dialogue with perception.
